There is no such thing as an American accent, there are so many different ones here!!

Stephen Hawking is a proud Englishman and speaks with an American accent.

I don't have an accent at all.

I'm from the Midlands, and so don't have an accent   Generally English accents don't get on my tits, perhaps because i'm so used to hearing them.  It's the people who speak with suck a thick accent that you can't understand what they're saying (mainly a few Scots and some Irish people) who annoy me.

American accents can be just as stupid sounding as ours, people from Texas for instance.  Redneck, Hill-billy or whatever you call it 

It is true , a southern redneck (Not the classy Georgia Gentleman) accent is one of the worst in the world, right up there with Boston/Maine

I find southern accents endearing but there is a rich Texan person accent that really gets on my nerves
