I think i'm going to try to work geezer into my IRL lexicon but i'm not even sure who to call a geezer and who not. It seems like its just a replacement for "man" or "dude" but i'd need @skrag or @ej to confirm that

"mate" and "man" are just substitute words for a friend

A geezer is (I think) a typical working-class Cockney who probably likes football, playing pool and goes to the pub a lot, he's not afraid of getting into a fight or buying a dodgy boot-leg CD, but wouldn't go further than that.  Like, a step up from a Chav.  I don't think the word is used a lot outside of London, i've not heard it for several years myself

Cockney slang is some of the best in the world. Especially when it is grunted to you by a middle aged, working class East Londoner.

Oilie: Short for 'oilie non-heterosexual person' which rhymes with drag. An East Londoner might say, "Can I bum an oilie, mate. An oilie non-heterosexual person, mate. A drag"

Britney: Short for 'Britney Spears' An East Londoner might say, "Let's go for a Britney, mate. Britney Spears - beers"
