BTW guys, tired of all those shadows made out of lego bricks? go to the .ini and change fShadowDistance=8000.0000 to any number lower than 8000.000. It also controls how far shadows are drawn but you can reach a good compromise. Here's how they look set at 400.000:

Apparently my roommate played Skyrim from 6AM on Saturday to 5AM on Sunday without taking any breaks besides going to the bathroom. Cool dude (H)

So after trying different d3d9.dll files from Skyrim Nexus and ENBSeries I remembered that FO:NV Nexus had a little program called "D3D9Gen B3" that basically created a file for you based on preset cards or by outright detecting your card. I clicked "Set my video card by text" and then had it run option #3 "SLOW", and then had it generate the d3d9.dll which I then dropped into my /Skyrim folder.

Switching from the pre-defined d3d9.dll someone made on the Skyrim Nexus to this D3D9Gen kept me with great performance while allowing high settings. It looks much better, now.

For anyone who wants to try it out just follow my instructions after downloading it from here (download the optional one labeled "D3D9Gen B3"):

This worked well for me.  I am running on all high and don't experience any slowdowns (rarely something like 20 fps).
