So, whats the story behind this patch, the one which changes the ending message to "YOU WIN"?  It sounds to me like a LOSER plot that someone like HWSNBN would come up with.

I think they made a patch for the people out there that just can't handle the WINNERness of the unpatched. You have to admit, not everyone gets it until they can see it 'corrected.' Once they get it, reinstall over the patched version.

The patch was made after all of the unfairly bad reviews for BROTRR. Stellar Stone was pressured to make the patch so BROTRR could be more Non-Winner-Compatible so people who can't truly grasp their inner WINNERNESS can still enjoy this game. Luckily, the patch isn't mandatory.
