on a related note to the title when I was a kid I was pretty sure that everyone and everything around me was some kind of alien simulation and I was just an observational study in daily human life

i definitely look upon my past with shame and regret

I reached the peak of maturity at 15, and since then I have had occasional lapses and overall most people would probably call me nuts once they got to know me well enough. Either that or I'm just an asshole to everyone I meet.

Anyhow, my theory on reality is that what defines it is irrelevant and this "reality" is mostly governed just by simple Newtonian physics. (We're a bunch of atoms floating around, etc.) As far as actual robots are concerned, like sci-fi robots, I don't believe that everybody walking around is a metal robot like Bender wearing a human suit. It seems silly and unlikely.
