I didn't quite catch all of that.

including the BROTRR media would be against Rigism, and deeming it "abandonware" is heretical.

There's the key factor.

Back on topic, it still doesn't work for me.  The window comes up mostly black, I can see fields to fill in name and IP and port, but everything else is just weird shapes on black and the game doesn't actually do anything.  It doesn't even let me change the name or anything.

big rigs is great and i want to suck his cock

I've followed Khalad's instructions and it still does not work.

alright:

  • You need Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing installed
  • download and unpack the BRO file anywhere on your computer
  • In the BRO folder, go to config/bigrigsonline.cfg and put the location of your BROTRR folder in the top line (typically this is c:/program files/big rigs racing or c:/program files (x86)/big rigs racing)
  • In your big rigs racing folder, open carz.res with winrar or something similar and extract it to the BROTRR folder
I have done all of these things, and it still does not work.

make sure the files are not in "big rigs racing/carz/data", but in "big rigs racing/data"

at least it was so back in the earlier version of BRO

EDIT: also,

No, back on topic one shouldn't have to have BROTRR to play BRO.
Your demonstration of what you think is and isn't required in programming, was effectively demolished during your inane Q&A crank-fest.  Just assume that the same people who you've been endlessly grilling for free programming lessons, probably know what they are doing with BRO.

PM or email me the .log file in the BRO folder so I can see what errors you're getting.

You and Donut have graphics cards that don't support vertex or pixel shaders. I'm currently writing some fallback techniques so that older graphics cards can at least play the game. Bad thing is I don't think it will look very good so be prepared for crappy looking terrain. So look forward to the next release.

Both you and Dissident are getting the exact same error. BRO can't find back2.bmp. First thing you want to do is open BigRigsOnline.cfg in notepad. It's in the config folder. Check that BigRigsPath matches the path to your Big Rigs Racing folder. If you really want to make sure this isn't an issue put the BRO folder into your Big Rigs Racing folder, then change the BigRigsPath to ../

Also make sure you have the cars.res extracted.

Last thing I could suggest is open Big Rigs Racing\Carz\Data\Menu\CarSelect and make sure back2.bmp is actually there. Maybe on some versions of BROTRR this file is missing?
