Just bought one of those new iPod Nanos, the long skinny one.  You hold it sideways to watch videos, which honeslty I could care less about because I bought it for 8GBs of awesome music.

My first music purchase was two Dragonforce albums, Inhuman Rampage (Special Edition) and Sonic Firestorm.  I note the Special Edition because it came with two videos and an extra song for like $4 more.  The song is cool but the 2 videos I can watch for free on YouTube, so I'm kind of torn on that one.  There's no real reason for me to be out in public watching "Operation Ground & Pound", and some local laws would even consider it indecent exposure.

Anyways, rate my purchase: Is Dragonforce Awesome [Y/N]?

The Nano was cheaper, plus I got an added discount by having a buddy who worked at the store buy it for me.

And I bought it because the iTunes store is really neat for finding new music.  It's how I discovered Ice Rod, and his epic ballad "Bang Your Dicks On The Table".

My poo poobox computer is allergic to torrents.  Also, as a music artist, with many peers in the music industry, I take a vested interest in seeing artists get compensated.  Unless the album outdates CDs, then fetch 'em.

Also because I built this poo poobox from parts I foraged out of the trash.  Back in 2002.  So I could continue using the hard drive from the computer I built back in 1996.  Also from parts I foraged out of the trash.

I prefer to think of it as picking my battles.

Does iTunes remember the songs you've bought?  Last I recall they didn't and if that HDD dies your hard-earned, ill-spent money goes with it.
