Even if he does become President, he'll be pretty useless, as most/all of his crackpot ideas will be voted down in the US Congress... right?  You'll just be screwed for 4 years until he's thrown out

The large number of people who are voting for him is kinda surprising/worrying, it suggests to foreigners like me what people in the USA are largely like; gun-toting rednecks! :usa:

It also suggests to natives like me that my fellow countrymen are retarded. I really have to hope that the majority are silent otherwise it'll be like locked-in syndrome on a national scale.

Congress is just as bad as Trump, they are utterly useless and don't care about anybody but themselves.  Trump is more or less the end result of the last few decades of Republican politics so it shouldn't really come as a surprise that he is doing so well.  Trump and Clinton are both only doing well because of their celebrity status, which I can only imagine makes Americans look even worse than they already are.
