I picked up a Mafia 2 code for myself since I already have Civ V and I helped out a friend get Mafia 2. You get a message at the end that it could take up to 24 hours for GMG to recognize the CVG votes so that may be what you're running into - just keep trying the verification link every couple of hours or so and eventually you'll get through and get your code e-mailed to you. I did the registration/voting stuff last night for my friend and got the code successfully this morning so just give them some time.

Yeah, they sent me the verification link almost right away but I had to wait a day for it to actually work.
