I haven't tried it but MXPlayer is very popular

video plays on MX Player (.mkv) but there's no audio, getting a message saying the dts codec isn't supported

mx player has always worked fine for me, hell even the lame samsung video player on my phone works without a hitch.  this is one of those nice cases where everything works way better on android than on PC
