Small-studio electronic games are an emerging market. Frankly, I think your treatment of Big Rigs is kind of cruel. It's like Troll 2 and how people make fun of it/have fun with it. Other games are just as fun, and you give them mention. ET, Superman 64, Zero Wing, Shaq Fu.

Indie games are a part of that small-studio emerging market. There are people who try very hard to make games and sell them. You call those games "bad". Wow. Let me give you an example. Dark Survival 2 took one developer three years of work and it still isn't finished. That game is that developer's masterpiece. Shouldn't works of art like that be sellable? Not according to the people who support the development efforts of games like Big Rigs. If the end product is the same, why do you care what the process was? Sure, DS2 took a lot of effort and time and was only made by one person, but when it is finished you will at the very least be able to call it a game.

Sergey Titov is heralded as the creator of Big Rigs and several other games, but he was only the head of a group of people who actually made the game. What if he were just one guy working on the game on his own? ET was made by just one guy, but it got a lot of press for its commercial failure. The small indie games don't get a lot of press, but they don't need to in order to succeed. However, at least extend the courtessy of your commendation to these small indie games. They are a small market, and they are small time all around.

Thank you.

Are you actually basing this on anything? We are constantly making topics about new indie games on Steam and elsewhere.

Bullpoo poo. There are ongoing development efforts that are completely ignored. To publish on Steam, you have to be able to deal with Valve or have some kind of development team. "Indie" here refers to starving artists. No matter how many kickstarters and steams are mentioned, nobody on these forums ever really gives a poo poo about indie games. It's like you have the same notability requirements as Wikipedia.

It sounds like you are expecting us to make a big deal over games that random jerkoffs make in their basement.

Show them the brand new Retro CGA version and you'll win them over yet

Those random jerkoffs make games just as good as BROTRR and ET. It's about the only thing they're good at. So, give them a break.

No, I'm pretty sure no "random jerkoff" could make a masterpiece like Big Rigs

I know a random jerkoff who made Dark Survival 2, AND a realistic space simulator.

Those are great games! You worship BROTRR and ET yet games like Dark Survival 2 are just complete poo poo, huh? Consider just for a second the fact that Dark Survival 2 was made by ONE PERSON. That means it took a hell of a lot longer to make. More blood, sweat and tears went into that game than BROTRR, regardless of total man-hours or popularity.

comparing your game to something that transcends gaming wont do you any favors.  but to be fair comparing any game to big rigs makes that game look terrible
