thunder i could probably make a game better than dark survival 2 in 5 minutes if i really wanted to and really tried

with that said i have no will to do it because unicorn you

If you really tried? In what engine? What is "better"? "Better" as in a popularity contest? Sure, you could probably make a game with gameplay that is more "fun" in less time and with a different engine, and so could I. However, the game would be completely non-portable, the graphics would be mismatched and ugly, and your easy 3D game maker would plaster ads all over the screen.
no it would probably be better because other people actually know what they are doing and you don't

I wouldn't be using the same tools as you

Hey I had an idea, maybe as a boss/enemies add some of the terrifying assassins who work for rockman kenny. They could use the block technique.

It's funny that you mentioned that because I am planning on including him in the game, but I'm trying not to give too much away at this point. Regarding the story, the goal is basically to reunite both factions of Rigaria into a cohesive whole to battle an outworldly threat that threatens the lives of everyone on planet Russia. Similar to my previous two games, there will be a karma system and at least two endings which are a function of whether you reunited Rigaria or not.

I've only really been working on it for a week (but have been in the pre-planning stage since I released Shaq Fu RPG 2). I removed the video I posted because I don't want to give the impression that the game will play like a crappier version of Shaq Fu RPG 2 with a higher framerate. I haven't really even worked on the battle system yet nor have I created any maps outside of the game's introduction sequences. Over the course of the week, I'd say 95% of the time I was simply spriting graphics. At this point, I'm just trying to create the title scene sequence and add sound effects to the menu(s).

Also, the game *will* be cross-platform but unfortunately the creator wants people to pay a 10$ monthly subscription to receive support for that feature. I won't be paying that until I at least have enough of the game created to warrant a demo.

From this point on, I'll probably cease talking much more about the game until I release something playable. I know that this community has been disappointed in the past (at least regarding Big Rigs Online) and I would hate to build unnecessary hype for the game. I *will* release this, but I won't be able to poo poo out a game in the span of three months because I work full-time now. I literally worked on SFRPG2 12 - 14 hours every day from May 28 - September 9. I'll keep you guys informed.

A small update:

Placeholder Title Screen

Always bet on Big Rigs!

A small video of Sergey killing enemies with an AK 47 on a few test maps that won't be included in the final game. I am still trying to sprite some spell animations/create some particle effects, so those aren't showcased yet.

Loving it.

A little suggestion (I know it's still early in development but just pointing something out now), is there a way to make it fade to a black screen and then back when switching screens, instead of flashing a loading screen too quick for its purpose?

I like it. One suggestion would be to make it a little less zoomed out, everything seems pretty small

Done! Thanks for the suggestion.

I'll be uploading another video within the next day or two that will showcase the introduction. Sorry for the lack of updates; my poo pooty job prevents me from working on this game as much as I want to (every waking hour).

I created the intro video which pretty much just provides the back story for the game that I already posted here.

Also, here is the new title screen for the game.

mm boy that is a lot of text

Yeah, that's because I have to create each layer (hair, eyes, body, shirt, pants, etc) as a separate sprite-set for each character. Moving, using melee weapons, and shooting guns all require their own sprite-sets. Since my characters use six separate frames when they move/attack/shoot, each NPC or player requires me to make around 72 different sprite-sets minimum. That amount of pixel art takes a lot of time for one guy. I only have the sprites for Stell, Sergey, Svetlana, and 5 other NPCs created right now. To be honest, I wasn't even ready to create an introduction sequence yet due to the fact that I'm still creating graphics (which will probably take me another full 1 - 2 months or so).  I used text as a crutch for graphics since I'm still working on them.

I could simply rip sprites out of other games (or reuse old RPG Maker sprites) which would save me a lot of time, but that looks pretty unprofessional and lazy, in my opinion. I actually want to create a decent game this time around.

idk if a whole ton of backstory is totally necessary, just paste together a bunch of footage of big rigs smashing into things and poo poo blowing up and other things that have nothing to do with the game but look really cool

Thanks for the constructive criticism. I remade the introduction sequence to parody the traditional George Lucas text pan in order to showcase the back story instead of forcing the player to sit through 4 minutes of it. I still left the scene that involves Sergey climbing WINNER Mountain to speak with the flaming Big Rigs disk (obvious spoof of Moses speaking to the Burning Bush in the Christian Bible).

I also changed the title because I fear that many people don't share my sense of humor. People may view that sappy embrace and assume that Big Rigs RPG was going to be some sort of cheesy love story. I created another (very poo pooty) title that is again, a spoof on Star Wars. Again, the storyline will be nothing like the Star Wars books/movies (I haven't actually seen any of them). Both the title and the short introduction sequence are supposed to be tongue-in-cheek humor.

I suck at photo-editing and would be very grateful if someone who possesses more skill at photo-manipulation could create a proper title screen.
