Got a styptic pencil in case i nick myself. It was kind of embarrassing to get it because it looks like a tampon.
The girl who rang it up for me had a scary scarred face. Overall it was a crazy day

Ordered more shaving stuff!

Build your own Blade Sampler 5 Pack:
5x Feather
5x Gillette 7 O'Clock Sharp Edge
5x Pol Silver
5x Shark Super Stainless
5x Big Ben Super Stainless

Also wanted to try an actual shaving brush so I ordered this Omega 10029 Boar Brush which I heard a lot of good things about.

my water heater is broken so i've been shaving with cold water for the past few days.
Highly recommend it! No irritation, no nicks, no weeperrs, FLAWLESS shave.

Showering with cold water sucks tho

BREAKING: Steev wastes more money on unnecessary shaving equipment for his new hobby!

Today I picked up the Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Set at Target for the discount price of $19.99

I mainly wanted the acrylic razor/brush stand and bowl, but it also came with a brush and some Van Der Hagen soap.

The brush claims to be achievement cuber hair online, but on the box it doesn't say. I'm pretty sure it's a boar brush, and not a very good one. Feels very cheap compared to my Omega Boar, but it still does the job so that's good I guess!

The soap is SURPRISINGLY DECENT even though shaving elitists will tell you it sucks. Smells kind of like Old Spice which is not my favorite, but it seems to lather just as easy as Arko and it's available in brick and mortar stores which is nice!

Stand works and doesn't fall over and the bowl is a bowl idk what more you'd want to hear about them!

Pretty good/10

UPDATE:

I pressed my Arko stick down into the bottom of the bowl and I like it much better than the VDH soap!
It doesn't make my brushes stink and it creates A LOT of lather especially in a bowl!

MY FAVOURITE BRUSHES:

I like the Ecotools Kabuki best for face lathering. It is the softest brush I've ever used!

My Omega 10029 Boar is great for lathering in a bowl. It has better heat retention than the Ecotools, though it is not nearly as soft!

VDH "achievement cuber" brush seems pretty poo poo and I probably won't be using it much!

Okay I've tried every blade in my sampler

Derby Extra: Not that good
Astra Superior Platinum: Okay
Shark Super Stainless: Good
Pol Silver: Good
Big Ben Super Stainless: Good
Gillete 7 O'Clock Sharp Edge: Good
Feather: Good

Derby had a lot of pulling and tugging and I could barely get one use out of them! Astra's had some pulling and tugging as well but not nearly as bad as long as you prep your beard properly. The rest of them were pretty much the same. Feather might be slightly sharper but unnecessary unless you're trying to look cool or have a beard made out of steel wool.

FINAL VERDICT:
Blade samplers are for shaving elitists ONLY and a huge waste of money. Just get any of the blades I marked "Good" and you will be happy.
I put the Steev Guarantee on that

That is a goddamn lie, you wouldn't have even had a reference on what constitutes a "Good" blade if you hadn't bought a sampler!  You need to try many different blades to determine what is best for your rugged, manly face.  Some people like Feather, some people don't, samplers let you get it right at a low low price.
