Yeah the nether portals take you to the middle of nowhere when you come back so swim up

I'm pretty sure I built a minecart track leading from the nether portal exit to an underwater tower I built to get you back to the surface.  Look for a cobblestone structure right near the nether exit.

His Minecraft introduction was kind of backwards.  His first exposure was to poo pooty iPad clones, THEN Minecraft PE, THEN Minecraft 360, and about 2 weeks ago I got him an account to the full version of Minecraft and whitelist access to a 24/7 server.  He's super addicted to Minecraft now, we hang out and play twice a week together.
