Sometimes I'll use it as leg support but usually it just gets in the way and I'm trying to keep it from falling on the floor. I always keep at least 1 sheet between me and it for max cleanliness too.

Yeah you buy the case separately, the pillow itself was actually harder to find at the time. I don't even know the series or character so it's not really important that I keep it in pristine condition forever. If I came across a character I liked on a pillowcase I'd probably go with bjornos solution. Never had to wash it yet, but it did attract little pieces of lint from some new sheets I was using.

The pillow itself is good for leg support.
