Something involving Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor, power tool user extraordinaire and lover of automobiles.



For those of you who don't know and are too lazy to look it up, Tim Taylor is an actor most well-known for his 1990´s TV hit series Home Improvement, which preceded Survivor in pioneering the reality tv genre (back when it was worth watching).  Already established as an accomplished tool man, Taylor accepted an offer from the company Binford Tools to star in a tool-related show called Tool Time. When his show sidekick and friend Al Borland suggested a one-time live show from Taylor's home, Taylor decided to make it a permanent fixture, as Binford Tools would now pay for any and every repair in the Taylor home.  When the ratings began to tank, Taylor decided to merge the old Tool Time with the elements of the new design.  He called this new show Home Improvement, or, as is more commonly known, The Revival of Cinéma Vérité for the Commoner Comedy-Drama.  Basically cameras went around his workplace and home filming everything Taylor and his family did.  The show was funny, witty, and had a little bit of everything for everyone.  It lasted about eight years and the only reason it was canceled is because his wife decided to get a PhD or sumthing.

Nowadays Tim Taylor solely plays a wannabe comedian named Tim Allen who is not funny at all.  Taylor had been playing Allen in small and menial roles for decades, but the name "Tim Allen" only came to the spotlight after it was credited as the voice of Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story series.  Taylor could not be credited due to contractual and mortal obligations with Binford Tools, a onetime Hatfield/McCoy-like competitor with Hasbro Toys, the creator of the Mr. Potato Head featured in the animated movies.

Al Borland went on to host Family Feud for a few years under the stage name Richard Karn but then who knows what happened to him.
