that is exactly what i was thinking as i approached the door and the great corn mural above it. that year's theme was like american heroes or something, so there were soldiers and firefighters on it, made of corn. this year is "youth activities" so it has really boring golfers and track runners. i will attempt to rent out a room once the mural is more exciting.

however, not staking a claim to one of the palace's grand rooms is the lesser of my two corn palace regrets. the other one is getting rid of that t-shirt. they changed the design on their shirts and now it has some lame eco-friendly looking typeface instead of big masculine ears of corn spelling out the heart of the corn capital of the world

the happy corn guy sports more husk than corn which will confuse passersby into thinking you bought some chinese gumby knockoff merch. the old design was real no-bullpoo poo in its presentation
