MY NECK, MY BACK....
(Podcast, interview begins at 8:57. The host recommended using this video for now since something is wrong with iTunes and other sites)
A few of the topics discussed:
SPOILER (hover here to read)
- Being misdiagnosed and not told he has a staph infection by the head WWE doctor for months.
- He was shot up with generic antibiotics and had to wrestle, which led to him pooping during a match on Smackdown. I saw it then, but I can't find the video at the moment.
- Receiving a concussion during a PPV and the same doctor not taking immediate action. This was during the Royal Rumble event, in which he was in the ring with at least fifteen people over the course of an almost an hour.
- Calling the WWE concussion test bullpoo poo, saying it's a smokescreen to look good but that the company still expected him to wrestle. Keep in mind that concussions in wrestling have been a big deal since WWE wrestler Chris Benoit killed himself and his family in 2007, and was later found to have the brain of an 80-year old with dementia.
- Calling the WWE drug testing program bullpoo poo, and implying that Triple H (Vince McMahon's son-in-law, former-but-still-occasional wrestler, and major onscreen figure) uses drugs.
- Accusing at least one superstar of using steroids and breaking his ribs on purpose.
- Being passed up for opportunities (and money), and generally being treated like garbage.
- Being officially fired by the WWE on his wedding day on purpose.
- The WWE not having long-term plans for any wrestlers (or even caring) except for John Cena.

CM Punk was one of the hottest things in wrestling in the late 2000s and early 2010s. A former WWE champion, he held the belt for 434 days, the longest reign of the "modern era." During this time, Punk also bled into mainstream media, which is always a plus in Vince McMahon's book (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_HxA4SPKzxc
). His no-nonsense attitude endeared him among wrestling fans, who saw him as a breath of fresh air in an industry filled with prototypical sycophants and tepid characters. For example, his "pipebomb" promo is considered one of the finest pieces of storytelling in wrestling in the last ten years, and it was all about how the WWE itself was rotten from the inside:
MY NECK, MY BACK....
However, due to reasons unknown (UNTIL THIS PODCAST), he walked out earlier this year and quit the business altogether. Since CM Punk is also considered something of an opinionated loudmouth without a filter, it was a surprise that he did not talk about what led to his departure. In his friend Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast, CM Punk tells what happened, and shares some CONTROVERSIAL insights into the WWE business.Naturally, this will appeal more to wrestling fans here who are familiar with the tropes and names he discuss, but I think it's an interesting podcast regardless.
More highlights explained here:

However, I highly recommend listening to the entire interview. This week the host is taking questions to ask Punk in next week's podcast.

How is the WWE so incompetent? CM Punk could have been their next big superstar like Stone Cold or Cena but they screwed him so they could put people like Brock Lesnar over instead. And now the same thing is happening to Daniel Bryan. They've got wrestlers who are clearly fan favourites that they should be pushing but instead they're matching them up with mid cards while making Batista vs Randy Orton the Wrestlemania main event. They deserve to be losing money on the WWE Network for putting on such a poo poo show.
