I love MGS because of not only how crazy the story is but all the crazy things Kojima insists you should be able to do in his games

there is an incredible amount of replayability for a series of almost completely linear games.  I once spent an entire week collecting dog tags in MGS2 to get the stealth camo and infinite ammo wig, and even now I'll pop it in once in a while and play hide and seek with the guards.

so seeing how open ended the gameplay is in that gameplay trailer, I'm pretty excited

MGS is stupid and great

I don't why people have a problem with MGS5's goofiness.  Vamp can get shot in the head 5 times in MGS2 and still go running up vertical walls, Volgin can shoot electricity out of his hands in 3, but horses taking a poo poo on command is just UNTHINKABLE.  And have you already forgotten Rising REVENGEANCE?

I think a lot of people are getting the impression that MGS5 is supposed to be more serious and DARK N GRITTY than the rest of the series, but I seem to remember 4 being presented the same way (perhaps even more so with the whole "Snake is old and dying" thing). Replacing Hayter's voice seems like an attempt to be less cartoony, but Kojima's always gonna be that same wacky idiot at heart and people need to accept that.
