I want to send my sister a .mp4 video via email, but unfortunately it is 33 mb (and Google only allows a max of 25 mb, unless I put the video in Google Drive, which I do not want).  Is there any way to lower the video's size?  What are good programs for this?  I would be ok with dividing the video into two parts if necessary.

you could probably use any video editor ever

Can you recommend one that does the job?  I used a couple, but they actually made the files bigger!  Even when I fiddle with the settings to make it low (crap) quality, it's still about the same.

Compression can only go so far, you might as well split it in half

FFmpeg does a pretty good job of degrading video quality. Just set the resolution and bitrate to really low and collect your poo pooty 2.5 MB video.

+1 ffmpeg is the best

use a frontend like WinFF if you don't like command line

actually i never even used winff so idk if it's good

Thanks, guys.  I have followed all your pieces of advice and now the video has gone viral, has been deleted from my computer, the computer is on fire, and I am dead
