The town I grew up in didn't even have a butcher shop in it so it's kinda nice living in an area where there are grocery stores and markets where one can find all sorts of meat cuts and seafood offerings one wouldn't regularly find in a big-chain grocery store.

On the flipside, all the time I saw clubs and community groups putting on picnics and other events offering all sorts of wild game dishes, Brunswick stew being a popular one.

I always go to Muslim restaurants in Asia because the quality of the meat is better. Halal is worth it.

Mexican markets DO NOT have better lamb than Halal.

Mexican markets are good for certain cuts of beef like fajitas, skirt steak, and also for chorizos.

Caribbean markets are good for oxtail and chicken.

Halal has lamb and goat locked down by a long long way.

if i want good sheep meat i just take one from the yard and kill it.  I had plenty of sheep from arabic stores in germany but its cheaper to buy a lamb from the auction let it eat your weeds until it grows and then kill it.

If I wanted cheap lamb id go buy it in a grocery store! The fact that I drove to a halal butcher and paid a bit more should indicate that there is Something to it!

Cirus honestly has no fetching clue what he's talking about. He grew up in Utah so his exposure to foreign foods is limited.

I grew up in Richardson which has both a sizable Muslim community and a Mexican community so I've been eating their cuts of meat since I was in diapers.

Caribbean markets seem to be good for chicken but my experience shopping at them is limited and thus I will reserve judgment and hold my tongue lest I be seen as a fool by those in the know. It's a shame our own administrator can't do the same.

The method of slaughter for halal products is much more humane. So yes, Diceman is a better person than your average apathetic American.
