Honestly, I think this is infinitely better, and even slightly funny. I would have the final line read "now he is dead" instead of "just dead," but I think the little reference to how people reacted to his previous little poem is entertaining.

I don't want to reopen this can of worms and start another argument, but the way that he states that it was misread seems to imply that it wasn't intended to be about  transwomen at all.

This seems obnoxious.

On the one hand, it adds nothing to the game, and even within its own context it's kind of dumb (embarrassed enough to commit suicide, but not embarrassed enough to tell people about it so they choose that as his epitaph?).

On the other hand, this is what you get when you solicit non-artists to fund your art, and entice them with the right to add their "creative spark".

Yes this is exactly it. The biggest drawback of the game is the Kickstarter garbage.

FWIW tho, I can't draw on any experience as a transwoman to know exactly how it feels to be the instigator of tragedy in a throwaway joke. The closest I have is my experience as a Jewish person who is just white looking enough to fool racists into a false sense of security when it's time to bust out the Heeby jokes.

IMHO, when people in video games make Jew jokes or are anti Semitic, I just assume they are antagonists in the story and I'm supposed to hate then.

I think it's good that the original thing was removed because it offended people, I don't disagree with that at all. I also think it was handled well by all parties because the developer reached out to the backer and he was okay with writing something else.

Glad Waz doesn't pull any of this kickstarter pay to "contribute" bs
