OFFICIAL FOOTBALL TOPIC X - Final-day madness

The Premier League relegation battle enters the final day with three teams battling to avoid the final two relegation spots:
Leicester's shocking draw against Newcastle puts them at 18th with a final chance to escape if Everton drop points. Leicester welcome West Ham to the KP, who will presumably be resting players with the UCL final upcoming and no league position to play for. Everton host Bournemouth who also have nothing to play for. For Everton, the situation is simple: win and you're safe. The Spurs travel to Leeds, with a UCL spot up for grabs if Tottenham wants it.
Bayern's godawful season continues with Dortmund being able to clinch the title for the first time in 11 seasons. Their home record is insane and should really be beating the struggling visitors Mainz.
Napoli are deserved Serie A winners: https://www.theguardian.com/football/gallery/2023/may/04/party-time-for-napoli-fans-italy-clinch-the-scudetto-in-pictures
PSG sucks but are Ligue 1 winners anyway.
Benfica surely has to be able to pick up a point from the last place team, essentially guaranteeing the title.

God I hope everton get relegated. They have been dire poo poo for two years now, terribly managed club, their fans still thinks its the 80s. Annoyed arsenal bottling with such a lead. Watching man city win it again is sickening. My fingers are crossed for dortmund. Bayern winning 10 in a row is criminal, worse then the scottish premiership these days for one club domination. Ligue 1 is an awful league imo it never really had its true golden age like serie a in the 90s or la liga in late 2000s early 2010s, its just psg spending ridiculous money on lavish players to play against tiny clubs and the fact they even lost a league to lille says it all. Sad sporting Lisbon couldn't keep up this season I always root for them in liga nos. Delighted napoli won there fans have passion on a another level its crazy the team played entertaining football all season. Shout out to feyenoord winning the Eredivisie. Just wanna point out this one the most entertaining football matches i have watched live MY NECK, MY BACK....

So mad about Everton surviving, they'll be right back down there next year too. Delusional club and fanbase. Great for Luton but they're absolutely miserable to watch. I don't give them a chance to stay up.

Might be interesting, injured players will now have to leave the pitch instead of getting treatment on the spot

Ever since I managed Wexford in FM13 I've casually followed the LOI and learned to hate Shamrock Rovers. John Delaney should be in jail

"learned to hate Shamrock Rovers" a bohs fan automatically. Bohs are my club, I have a season ticket for them. League of Ireland is doing brilliantly with attendances lately, clubs are actually filing their grounds. Over the years I've gone to LOI games in many grounds and there would be very few people at the games but now it can be hard to find a ticket near match day sometimes especially for clubs like bohs rovers st pats shelbourne the Dublin clubs. John Delaney was a pure con artist destroyed Irish football and is hated by all in Irish football.

Almost 4000 average attendance is what I see, compared to barely 2000 pre-COVID. That's good to see. I was surprised when I learned how poorly supported the league was, until I then learned how corrupt it was

Most grounds in League of Ireland are small maximum for most is 4-5k only shamrock rovers have a ground that can hold 10k in League of Ireland. League of Ireland is on the up now and it's brilliant to me.

I don't know anything about football but I'm kind of curious what you guys think about Milwall. They have a reputation for being a rowdy bunch.
24-05-2024, 09:11:13 AM
Millwall is very typical lower division yoyo club, they have been up and down the english league system all their existence haven't actually won any major trophies but has an extremely loyal and passion fanbase. Their reputation proceeds them thanks to been one the top hooligan firms in the 70-80s when hooliganism was off the charts in English football. Fights in the stadium and outside of it. There based in Southeast London and there local rival is charlton athletic who hasn't beaten millwall in like 25+ years. There major Derby is west ham. These football hooligan films that came over of the years (football factory, green street, etc) have made millwall fans out to be some the nastiest cunts you will ever meet but the millwall fans I met where some the nicest funny down to earth people I've ever met. Theyre realistic about millwall been a very tinpot club but for lot of the hardcore, millwall is what they live for. football is an experience that can become addictive that will make you chase your club all over the country. Millwall is one those clubs where the fans are the club not the football played on the pitch. The den millwalls stadium is a brilliant ground and the fans are loud as fetch on match days we'll worth a visit if you ever in southeast London.
