Damn, that water cooling system looks crazy.  Is there still a danger of water leaking?  I don't know how good or bad those systems have become

There's a chance of a leak with faulty parts but it's not really dangerous

Yeah I agree with what Cirus says, he sounds like he knows a lot about technology.  :belair:

Yeah I should have waited almost 3 months for a card I could have never predicted would exist

Hey guys I'm going to post about my new headphones in this topic because it's relevant enough.

So after purchasing Sennheiser HD555's with my old desktop in 2006 I hadn't bought a new pair of headphones (although I have bought about 5 sets of earbuds).  I finally decided to splurge and so I bought the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro (250 ohm edition):

I opted for closed headphones because I currently live in a studio apartment so not having any sound isolation is a really bad idea.  These also have a pretty V-shaped sound signature which is much unlike my HD555's as well.  The build quality is incredible and they are the most comfortable headphones I've ever used.  Of course I couldn't drive a set of 250 ohm headphones by onboard audio so I had to buy an amp (and DAC) as well.  For those I went with the set from Schiit Audio, the Magni and Modi.

The difference between amp and onboard audio is unreal.  With onboard there is a lack of clarity in the bass while with the amp it's clean and BOOMING WHOA.  The treble is very clean as well but the mids are recessed a little bit.  It's nothing that can't be fixed with an EQ though.  These are absolutely killer for gaming as well; they pass what I consider to be the ultimate test, which is positional audio in CS:GO.  I can actually tell where enemies are coming from now!  It's incredible.  But yeah I recommend the DT 770 Pro if you want closed headphones, DT 990 Pro otherwise.  The DT 880 Pro is supposed to be good but very very neutral so unless you're producing or listening to classical you can probably skip it.  There are also cheaper DAC/amp combinations if anyone is interested.

Cirus you should've waited for the GTX 970!!!!!

300 bucks DAMN SON

ZIGS I knew that Nvidia would step up their game and own AMD in 3 months, glad I waited!!!

I'm sure AMD will have something impressive soon as well, that's just how this cycle goes.

I would like a card with lower power consumption and less heat, although I honestly won't care for the winter because I would have to plug in a heater anyway. I don't have any roadmap in mind for upgrading yet.

oh yeah i know it dog!!

I'm also interested in a low power/heat/noise card. That 60W 750 Ti looks kinda appealing.
IDK tho I might be wanting a little better performance in the near future.
