Q: Why isn't the female Geodude called Geochick?

A: Pragmatic reason: because Geodude was named before gender and breeding was introduced to the series.

Actual reason: because Geodude is the rock-hard testicle Pokemon.  Even female testicles are dudes as far as I'm concerned.
