I saw tons and tons of them in Argentina because that was how they almost always sold milk. NOW YOU KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's just to stop the milk from getting all crusty and gross near the opening.

Either way, it's a little harder to drink straight out of a bag,  whether that be good or bad.

Bagged milk user for the first ~12 years of my life here. It really sucks because you gotta cut the bag just right so it comes out at a reasonable flow. After a while the pitcher you put the bag into to hold starts gettin a stank after a while that doesnt really wash out. I guess an advantage is the bags are easy to throw out because they compact well. We have entered the 21st century and use jugs now though.
