I have made a terrible mistake.

Ok, so I've been complementing my crackers and cheese with this pear and port wine jam (pictured above) and it's absolutely delicious. I mean, it's like they were made for each other, a true feast for the palate. Now, I also have this other jam, raspberry and basil, and decided to try it out. The jam itself is perfectly fine but while the pear jam complements the cheese's flavor in a remarkable way, fusing together to create this whole new amazing flavor, the raspberry jam is the exact opposite! They pretty much cancel each other out, resulting in a terrible cardboard taste! I was foolish enough NOT to do a small taste test first so I completely ruined an entire batch of crackers!

My sanity will never recover from this
