hi guys please help improve the Rogue-like tag by applying it to your favorite roguelikes on Steam

you'll notice that most of those aren't even roguelikes and ToME isn't even featured there yet!!

Hey guys Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup is a great RL you've probably heard of.

It made me appreciate just how good of an introduction to roguelikes POWDER is

Uploading a bunch of ToME screenshots now, but I will first point out my favorite thing about the game.  When you're in the game you're automatically connected to a chat room with everyone else who is playing--you can link items or enemies and ask the veteran players for advice.  It's amazingly helpful.  The dev can sometimes be found chatting with people too.  Similarly, everything can be found online.  For example, here is my profile.  You can view all of my characters, their stats and the game log right before they were killed.

From a while ago
The dev will sometimes activate certain things for everyone who is playing.  In this case, it's an ability that gives you a small percentage of turning into a bunny for a few turns which raises your chance of a critical hit.

All of the following screenshots are from clearing the last level of a difficult dungeon and the game UI

Inventory example

Character defense screen

In-game UI showing skill bar for inventory/character skills

A treasure chest!!!

But the chest was guarded!

A cool elite enemy

The boss of the dungeon

Kill boss, level up, get achievement

Levelup screen

At level 30 you get a superskill

World map example
The world map is mostly static, while the dungeons are almost exclusively randomized (some have set patterns).

DCSS is really great and I think most people would argue it's the best RL out there

Roguelikes that I like:

Dungeons of Dredmor
Rogue Legacy

maybe there are others, I dunno. I am mainstream and boring

Only Dungeons of Dredmor is a roguelike and that's more of a rogueLITE
~*whatever*~ at least I tried
