February 21, 2013 was an EXCITING and REMARKABLE day when Google announced the Chromebook Pixel, a PREMIUM Chromebook featuring the highest pixel density display of any laptop in the world, 3:2 aspect ratio that's PERFECT for viewing web content, ALUMINUM BODY, and etched glass touchpad. Oh yeah, did I mention it has a TOUCHSCREEN??

Until now, Chromebooks have only targeted the low-end of the market, where they have had GREAT success. Samsung's $249 ARM Chromebook has been the #1 best selling laptop on Amazon since the day it came out! WOW

Google now has the low-end and high-end COVERED with Chromebooks ranging from $199-$1449. These, and the Nexi, will make a great line of products for Google when they open up their own retail stores later this year!

But what is the Chromebook Pixel?? Who is it for??

But who the hell wants a high-end Chromebook? And why does high-end have to mean over a thousand dollars? None of the Nexus products cost that much.

But they also do more.  But this seems like a real bleeding-edge product, and I think Google might be trying to really force the cloud concept with this more than anything else.

I don't remember nothing super powerful just ultrabooky

I think it was Core i5 Ivybridge ULV w/e 6969m ultrabook edition, 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64 GB SSD, 12.86" 2560x1700 touchscreen display, optional 4G LTE, and extremely good build quality

You can also run native apps on Chrome OS inside an Ubuntu chroot

Linus Torvalds Chromebook Pixel review
https://plus.google.com/u/0/102150693225130002912/posts/dk1aiW4JjHd

Here is Chromebook Pixel next to Macbook Pro. As you can see Chromebook Pixel has a better viewing angle, which is great because I always use my laptop at that angle!

I hope that Samsung or Acer can make a cheaper chromebook with similar display!
And I hope to see more Chromebook Pixels than Macbook Pros at this year's Google I/O!!
