Imagine an iPod Touch with a lot more power and, overall, a lot more uses.  Then imagine having something that can do nearly everything a laptop can do, while having a much superior battery and being much more easily portable.

That's your Nexus 7®

I never use my iPod touch thanks to my Nexus 7.

Whats the harddrive like on the Nexus 7, because 8/16GB sounds puny.  Can you use SD cards or maybe free cloud storage?

you can use an SD card with an OTG cable and root, you can use Google's cloud system for music and books and movies from their store, and of course there are the dozens of other cloud solutions available.

I don't really use the storage much though, just a couple of albums and books on there.

Yeah if you use the cloud then the 8 or 16 GB is probably enough for most people.

To expand the storage you can plug in any kind of USB drive with an OTG cable, but it's not the most elegant solution.
Some people just stick a portable wifi drive in their pocket, but they're still a little expensive:

The cloud is fine for me though since I usually have internet access and there is enough room to store what I need to access offline.

You can use Google Play to upload your music collection and access it from anywhere.  I don't know about a movie solution but as mentioned above I'm sure they exist.  Storage really isn't an issue at all.

Yeah I want to buy a tablet - Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD or this Apple Mini when it comes out.  Apple's current iPad just seems too big to carry around, so a nice 7" one is good (that's what she said)

So far the Nexus 7 is winning :belair:

Nexus 7 takes a dump on the Kindle (I love amazon as a site but they need to step up their hardware to be a real competitor, Nooks are better in the ereader department and their tablets are sorely lacking). The ipad mini might be nice but it will undoubtedly be more expensive than the nexus, possibly much more so. I also like android more than ios but that is a preference thing. In conclusion I think you are safe going with the nexus 7.

I'm not even convinced the iPad mini is real anymore.
The tech bloggers made me believe it was real but they also said the next iPod Nano would be a smartwatch and that never happened.

IT WAS ALL LIES

The Apple fanboys were just jealous of our cool N7 and they wanted the same exact thing but with an Apple logo
