That's not true, a lot of shaving enthusiasts use them.  But at this point they're basically luxury items that you don't need

Make sure you go WTG and XTG before even THINKING about ATG.  I never go ATG because it gives me razor burn no matter what and it's not really worth it.  Buy an alum block and some aftershave and never have razor burn AGAIN

Went to Target and got some DOVE MEN+CARE HYDRATE+ POST SHAVE BALM
My face feels better and it smells good too!

I'll look into this alum block thing too

do you guys just rip your face apart when you shave or something? maybe you just have sensitive girly skin that can't handle shaving

I never had razor burn in my life until now

I think my lather was too dry I'll add more water next time

#177 24-02-2014, 20:46:40 PM
i don't ever get razor burn and i don't think i have some special skin or secret technique that makes it so. all i do is relather after shaving with/across/whatever and then apply absolutely no pressure when shaving against so you don't feel any snags. if you got a smooth lather and a sharp razor blade then it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah that's the proper technique for sure. I have pretty bad skin so I can't really prevent it

Just completed today's shave and no razor burn!

I used a brand new blade so that might have been it
