Second half

Poland play better in midfield this time round, but they hardly worry Joe Hart.  England make a few great chances on goal but fail to hit the net, until Steven Gerrard chips it in on the 87th minute.  fetch yeah!  Lampard and Rooney both pick up yellow cards, but these should expire before the final games begin in 2014.

2-0, ENGLAND IS OFF TO BRAZIL

What do you guys think of the recent debate over moving the Qatar world cup to The winter?

Its a joke that Qatar got the bid.  But since they have it I think its worth looking into having it in the winter.  But really I think the players should be able to decide because they have to deal with either playing in the summer, or getting out of routine to play in the winter while they should be playing club soccer.

England always breaks out of the initial group stages; it's the quarter finals where we usually lose

Problem with playing Qatar in the winter is that many countries will be in full swing with their own national tournaments, and you'll have some clubs without their best players.  Those players will also be knackered with no rest, playing all those games.  Other clubs could capitize on the loss of those players, and suddenly the likes of the Premier League will have completely different teams at the top instead of the usual ones.  Which might not be a bad thing TBH, but it does sort of fetch up the competition as a whole.

Must have been some bribes flying around for Qatar to get 2022 in the first place.  But who cares right now, it's years away.

It's worth complaining about because it's clear FIFA won't give the WC to a nation that is more prepared to host.  I think in the end UEFA will just put in a long winter break like the Russian league already does.

Can Portugal hold onto their one goal lead in Sweden??? Can Ukraine continue embarrassing France? Will Iceland make it through in Croatia? So many storylines!
