Probably but I don't really think there's a need to (I just read a few basic things).  The big difference is that you don't want to put any pressure on the razor since they're a lot sharper than disposable ones.  Also, start by shaving with the grain and then if you want it closer do another pass across the grain or against the grain depending on your hair.

You'll probably get some nicks the first few times so be ready to bleed.  If you bought the styptic pen then it doesn't really matter since you can stop it anyway.

/r/wicked_edge has a ton of good resources if you care but this type of shaving really isn't as hard as it seems

reddit is full of crap! Watch geofatboy on YouTube, he's like the dad I never had.

My experience:
Ok this is gonna really shock you guys but in the beginning, I got pretty bad shaves with my DE razor. I still went on IRC and told Cirus "Amazing shave m8"  but it was all a lie!
Eventually they got better though, so never give up.

I still get little weepers occasionally  when shaving my neck. Best way I found to prevent those is to do a pass WITH the grain like Cirus said, then another ACROSS the grain, then (only if you need to) you can go AGAINST the grain. Going straight to AGAINST the grain can be really rough!

What you're about to do is the shaving equivalent of becoming a Linux user, so good luck and don't ever go back to Windows shaving.

I lost my shaving soap while on vacation.

Any recommendations?  Also, anything to keep it in while using it?
