I just updated the installer and uninstaller slightly to make it cleaner, apparently on Vista and 7, when you uninstall Big Rigs using this installer, it leaves the start menu shortcuts behind mainly because it requires elevated privileges to remove them (thanks to Microsoft). this new one fixes that. I've also included the option on whether to include start menu shortcuts for either the current user or all users. I've also resized the splash screen for people who don't have a 1600X1200 screen resolution so you can see the whole box.

I would like to see some kind of program that allows you to see cover art, descriptions etc of all of the archived games and lets you download them.  Of course probably not possible with multirar archives, but it would be cool.

Not only they're multirar files, but they contain CD images, both of which I can't do (yet). But if you extract the installers from the cd images, then either post them on the site, or pack the extracted installers inside seperate 7z files and then post that. I might be able to create a program using NSIS that does do that with those installers. (the reason I know this is because I theorized how to create a download manager for my site in a similar way but never got around to actually doing the coding to see if it worked, though there's a good chance I could get it to work)

slight update to my installer, created my first custom installer icon using Photoshop and Greenfish Icon Editor Pro, also changed the PC Image in the installer window.

I'll make a web installer for Big Rigs if you create a mirror of the Big Rigs Installer that I made, as well as the web installer. I'm trying to save bandwidth.

I just created a working isz file for this installer. An isz file is a compressed iso. An iso file is sorta like a bin file, only smaller and does not require a cue file. Mount the isz with daemon tools lite. After mounting you can clone the mounted image on to a cd with CDBurnerXP.

Come to think of it, If i had the source code to BROTRR. I might be able to (maybe) get Nightride working. I could also get it to work on Linux without wine also. Too bad BROTRR is closed-source.

I'm pretty sure that there aren't any files for Nightride, so the map technically doesn't exist.

It might be possible to make your own Nightride from scratch with a custom map and textures. I wouldn't know though.

I already know that since I tried just transferring the binaries from Midnight Race Club: Supercharged to Big Rigs since Big Rigs is basically the Pre-alpha version of Midnight Race Club: Supercharged, unfortunately it didn't work, the only two reasons I can think of why it wouldn't work is 1. libraries are static meaning they are linked at compile-time instead of run-time or 2. files needed to be called from the main exe file, either way you need the source code to do that. on another topic, I was going to make a Linux software package for Big Rigs so you can install it through the package manager, (you'd still need wine to run it though), but I decided not to since my windows installer seems to run fine in wine as long as you run it in the wine virtual desktop.If you run it without the virtual desktop the installer background covers the installer window so you can't see what you're doing.

It sounds like to port it to Linux you need two things:

1) The source code
2) The inverse of Cygwin

Alternatively, isn't there Winelib or something you can bundle?

To build a software package, the plan was to list wine as a dependency. That way if you don't have wine installed already, it will install it for you. But since people can just download wine and then install Big Rigs with the windows installer using wine, I didn't think it was such a priority. I might make a software package for Big Rigs in the future though.
