Guys I've been trying to fix my computer all night. It crashed yesterday and won't boot it gets to the windows screen an says critical process died. System restore does not work, safe mode does not work, USB boot virus scan shows clean. I may have to reinstall but I can't access any data even hooking the drive up to another computer . Wtf is

If I listened to Steev I would have installed airdrve and could transfer it all to my nexus 7 but I didn't listen and I don't even keep backups ha ha ha my weekend is ruined !

Widows won't let me install over the existing partition it says the partition is not valid or recognized and it wants me to format or delete the partition first but if I do that I lose everything right ?

I am not steev, but you could try creating a bootable USB drive of a Linux distro and try accessing the files on your hard drive from there. You'll need another computer to do that though.

your harddrive is probably dead??? try doing a scan with some harddrive error detector thingy

I think my drive is ok but somehow the partition got fricked? I erased it and formatted my drive, lost everything, reinstalled and im back up and running (But with a ton of work to do to get everything set up)

The drive seems fine now

Can someone please make a comment about how if I was using Linux instead of WINDOZE that this would not have happened?

Maybe it would have, but at least you'd have better tools to fix it (Live cd,  chroot, etc)  and a SEAMLESSLY INTEGRATED filesystem that spans across several different partitions, drives, or even computer systems

If you were using Linux you would know the credentials are still posted in the FM topic
