I always thought Enver Hoxha was an interesting leader. Albanians and Albanian Americans have a reputation for being a tough and contentious people. I know someone who visited Albania and said it was his favorite country in Europe.

Bald and bankrupt toured the country and made a good video about it. I can't preview posts so I have no way to embed the video but here is the hyperlink:

Eric Margolis, the author of War at the Top of the Worlds, is half Albanian. I think everyone should read this book as the author is able to explain the complexities of South Asian and Himalayan politics in a simple and clear way. He spent time in the trenches with the mujahideen in Afghanistan in the 80s  and 90s and has several high ranking contacts in Pakistan. He is very good at explaining the Pakistani perspective of things.
