Italy were in total control in the second half but England played reasonably.  Absolutely terrible on set pieces though, no matter who took them.  Sterling looked great, Rooney looked horrendous.  I don't want to watch Italy without Pirlo :(

Not surprised that Ivory Coast won but I'm surprised how it happened.  They didn't look comfortable at all until Drogba came on and then they almost immediately score 2.  Japan's keeper sucks.

It was a good game, both teams played well.  It wasn't a bad-tempered game like most of the matches have been.  Yeah, England were terrible at corners and other set pieces, that was clear.  It didn't matter how much beer I drank, we still couldn't find that much needed second goal.

Rooney made one excellent cross but that was about it, I don't think he played in a position which suited him and he's definitely below par.  He missed an excellent chance on goal which may have cost us the game.  Maybe it's the heat, who knows.  Italy did have a lot of possession, they decided to defend with 9-10 players behind the ball most of the second half.  We still had a lot of chances on goal, but missed them all!  Argh!

England played well against one of the best teams in this tournament.  I'd be surprised if we didn't break out of the group stages.  1st or 2nd, it won't matter much as our last-16 match against a group C team should be easy.  We can still go far or even win this tournament, as long as Roy Hodgson sorts out a few issues we have (set plays and Rooney).

It was laughable how they actually painted parts of the pitch to make it look more green

I didn't rate England to get out of the group before but after Costa Rica winning it certainly seems possible. They need to take care of business but beating Uruguay and Costa Rica won't be easy. In England's favor they only lost by one goal.

You can tell the heat had a huge impact because Italy were content to slow it down and waste time while England were far too tired to make a strong counter. Worried about the US game against Portugal there.

I don't think the games have been bad-tempered at all so far.

I didn't rate England

Do you talk about "rating" teams chances or "rating" players in person or only on the internet? That is so European and progressive of you.

I had to run some errands during the Switzerland-Ecuador game but I walked in the door about two minutes before that stoppage time goal, that was awesome

lol

A truely terrible (and surprising) performance from Portugal.  The USA's chances of breaking out of the group stages just got a lot better.

Pure stupidity from Pepe.
