The server currently runs version 1.6.1

Rules
The only rule is that you shouldn't be a jerk.  Don't steal stuff or blow up houses; that's about it.  The server makes regular backups of the world so it can be restored in case of any complete disasters.

• Optifine -- A mod that greatly improves the performance and appearance on lower-end machines.  If you can't already run it at max I would recommend trying it out.

2. Click options http://puu.sh/8cbj
3. Click "Game location on disk"
4. Open "bin" folder
5. Paste minecraft.jar

My computer runs Minecraft like an old man trying to poo poo a Cadillac.  I was able to get on long enough to see a sign asking me not to rob a house - that took me nearly 20 minutes just to get to the sign, then my computer froze up.  Methinks it's time to finally accept that I need to save my shekels and get something that wasn't designed by Fred Flinstone and his fine co-workers at Packard-Bell.
