Very impressive for the price.  If I can't break this love of microcomputers I might pick one up

so tempted but i think i'll just stick with the slower pi for now and upgrade to an Intel NUC/Chromebox when the time is right

Hey guys my cool bro sent me $$$ for xmas and instead of being responsible and saving it I was thinking about getting an Odroid C1, but only if you guys want me to do a Lisa-style RPi vs Odroid smackdown comparison

What do you think??

What would you use it for?  I would be interested in N64 and PSX emulation if it's possible (but I seem to remember that it isn't)

Emulation box

RetroArch should run nicely on it (minus shaders) with the mali fbdev driver, including the PS1 and N64 cores.
They even demoed ppsspp on Android playing Tekken 6 at a pretty playable framerate (w/ speedhacks).

I've been searching for the perfect emulation box that's not a PC for a while now, but haven't found anything I'm completely happy with yet.
MK808 worked okay for a while, but then the wifi crapped out and the dev community died so it's almost impossible to get a proper Linux distro with working GPU drivers on it now.

Actually the best I've had so far was my old Nintendo Wii, but that didn't have a good PSX or N64 emulator

m8s i decided against it after reading the forums.. too many software/driver issues currently

XBMC: No audio passthrough, no CEC, no mpeg2/vc-1/h.265 hw decode, no dynamic refresh rate switching for smooth playback/outputs 24Hz instead of true 23.976Hz

RetroArch: Weird freezing issue in pcsx_rearmed, ARM dynarec not working is mupen64plus, alpha channel issues in ppsspp, emulators seem limited to 40Hz in full screen mode??

Those are pretty much the only 2 things I'd want to do with it so I will wait for the software to mature a bit.

In the meantime I did a custom build of Lakka for my RPi and with a little overclocking I am getting full speed nes, snes*, genesis, gb, and gba emulation which is good enough for now I guess.

*Super FX games still sub-60fps

both have issues on Linux, but work ok on Android

The odroids seem to have great community and support compared to all the cubies and chinaboards, so I expect they'll get most of the issues worked out.
