BROTRR Discussion / BIG RIGS in DOOM
30-09-2017, 18:44:00 PM
As some of you may know, my YouTube channel is primarily focused on DOOM Snapmaps these days. I recently caught wind of two mappers (banana321 and TerraTela) collaborating on a BIG RIGS Snapmap. One of them just posted a picture of the ULTRANAV interface that they designed ( and I was also sent some screen shots via XBox LIVE of the environment they're building, and I am incredibly excited. I will keep you all posted on its development.

Social/Off-Topic / My Favorite Underwear
16-08-2016, 15:29:41 PM
My favorite underwear is full of holes and completely shredded. They used to be boxer briefs but now they are a cross between a thong and a loincloth. So comfy.

What is your favorite way of keeping your balls from touching the inside of your pants?

Pro Wrestling / THE GOLDEN TRUTH
06-07-2016, 22:13:07 PM
Has anyone been paying attention to this storyline? I really dig what they've been doing with it. At first I had no idea what they were going for but now that it's taking shape I'm really digging the concept: basically it's two guys trying to form the most WINNER tag team ever, complete with showing all the difficulties they have in getting their poo poo together. Plus I love the new shirts, have you seen them?

A lot of "whose that" competitors, but a few names stick out from the times they were on WWE or NXT television:
Johnny Gargano
Brian Kendrick
Tomasso Ciampra.

Personally, from the new faces, my money is on either Da Mack:

or Jack Gallagher:

PRE SHOW MATCH: Baron Corbin def. Dolph Ziggler
Corbin is starting to grow on me as a character. That said I really hope this is the last we're seeing of his program with Ziggler. Both men should be moving on to bigger and better things, and it feels like the past month has been one big holding pattern for them while WWE Creative tries to figure out how to use them. 4/5

TORNADO TAG MATCH: Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows def. The Usos
I was genuinely amazed that The Usos were getting booed on their way to the ring. Looks like people hate Roman Reigns so much that the hate rubs off on these guys. Personally I really can't get behind Anderson/Gallows. I get that they were hot poo poo in Japan as part of Bullet Club, but they have yet to do anything really compelling in the WWE Universe (apart from being AJ Styles' lackeys, which is itself annoying because one of my biggest pet peeves is babyfaces getting away with doing heel poo poo for no good reason, and this definitely qualifies). All in all it wasn't a bad match, I just didn't feel invested in the outcome either way. 3/5

I was really concerned that this match would be kind of blah, and I was SO happy to be wrong. Both of these guys put on a marvelous performance from start to finish. Kalisto got in some really amazing spots, and Rusev looked like a motherfetching BEAST. Both my wife and I literally cringed when he locked in that Accolade (Camel Clutch) at the end of the match, it looked like he was ripping Kalisto in half. For those keeping track, this is the THIRD US Title holder in a row who is billed from being outside of the United States, making this title's name seem really weird and meaningless. Still, awesome match. 4/5

TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: The New Day def. The Vaudevillains
My wife and I were scared that New Day were dropping the titles when it was revealed that Woods would be one of the people competing (seriously, before this match, it seemed like you only ever saw Woods in the ring if he was there to get pinned). Their entrance and opening smack-talk were vintage New Day, and a reminder of why they are the most entertaining tag team on the main roster. Vaudevillains came out with some new entrance gear as well, I approve. The match itself was pretty good, it seems like Gotch is taking things a little easy, probably so we don't have another Enzo Amore incident. And wow, Xavier Woods has a finishing move... too bad it looks a lot like the one Nakamura is using on NXT right now. Oh well, still a pretty good match. 3/5

INTERCONTINENTAL TITLE FATAL 4-WAY MATCH: The Miz def. Cesaro, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens
I... wow. This match was absolutely AMAZING. It started with Zayn hitting a brutal Heluva Kick on Owens, and went completely crazy go nuts after that. There were at least a half dozen logical finishes that got kicked out of. The crowd was white-hot throughout, and... oh man, if you didn't see this match, go back and watch this match. poo poo like this is why I am such a huge wrestling fan. Kevin Owens' pop up powerbomb finisher still looks stupid though. 5/5

ASYLUM MATCH: Dean Ambrose def. Chris Jericho
In what turned out to be pretty much the only "extreme" match on a PPV called "EXTREME RULES", we get introduced to what is essentially a cell match by way of Thunderdome (I'd say "steel cage" match, except you can't win by escaping the cage, so in essence it's a cell match). In typical Ambrose fashion, the weapon selection mixes traditional weaponry (kendo stick, barbed wire bat, etc) with some fun new ones (nunchucks, houseplant, etc). It was basically a bog-standard hardcore match until the thumbtacks came out, at which point there was some absolutely brilliant teasing for about 5 minutes. Ambrose ended up hitting Dirty Deeds onto the thumbtacks (which clearly hurt them both), cementing his reputation as the craziest guy on the roster right now. A mediocre match with some good moments and a great finish. 4/5

This match had so much potential, however the devil is in the details, and anyone familiar with Ric Flair's body of work should know damn well that "Ric Flair is banned from ringside" is basically announcing that "someone else will be cheating on Ric's behalf". It wasn't such a terrible thing that (predictably) someone else would end up helping Charlotte. What really sucked was the way Natalya was defeated - she tapped out, when she wasn't even in the center of the ring and could have at least made an attempt to get to the ropes. It was the most annoying way for the match to peter out at the end, and IMHO is not really doing the newly-branded Women's Division any favors. I really feel like Creative needs to poke its head from out of Ric Flair's ass and try something that isn't recycled from his career-defining moments. 2/5

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Roman Reigns def. A.J. Styles
One big predictable series of events. It's extreme rules so you know there's gonna be chairs. Both guys are in factions, so you know they're gonna get some help. Reigns is "the guy" right now and Styles is "popular no matter what" so you know Reigns was going to win. Rollins is back from injury so you know he's going to show up after the match and punk Reigns. Zero thought went into the writing for this match and it shows. And OMG the Styles Clash is such a stupid looking move. News flash: any move that requires your opponent to CLEARLY HELP YOU PUT THEM IN IT is stupid. I'll give props for the skill of everyone that participated, but this match felt like an afterthought, not a match for what is supposed to be the biggest prize in the industry. 2/5

OVERALL: 3.5/5
A pretty decent show that sort of limped at the end.

Pro Wrestling / Chyna Is Dead
22-04-2016, 14:12:53 PM

Confession time: I didn't watch much wrestling during the much-lauded "Attitude Era" because most of it was obnoxious pandering and weaksauce attempts to ape WCW. However in all that crap there was a glowing diamond - Chyna, a woman who competed with men. It wasn't done before in WWE, hasn't really been done since, and thanks to some decisions which are only unfortunate because Americans is prudes, we know for a fact that she was indeed all woman.

She deserves a lot more respect and compassion than The Levesque Administration gave her before her death, and hopefully they will see fit to posthumously get her into the WWE Hall Of Fame.

For those wondering how/why a major title would change hands at an untaped live event, I personally recall when Christian got the Intercontinental Championship off Booker T at an untaped live event, and this was way back in August 2003. Let's be clear - I have so few fond memories of the IC title history, and this is one of them. Sometimes less is more.

In any case, it's well deserved. Samoa Joe is a legit beast. If you don't believe me, here's David Young discussing how he and Joe would play a game called "hockey punching", where the goal was to legit punch each other in the face. This is the kind of stuff Joe does for fun, sans paycheck.

This is awesome.

Pro Wrestling / Wrestlemania 32 Predictions?
31-03-2016, 13:08:27 PM
Here's the card as of 3 days before the event, along with my predictions:

United States Champion Kalisto vs. Ryback (Kickoff Match): I really like Kalisto and want to see him retain. This is convenient because I think he actually will. They've been kind of spinning their wheels on Ryback lately, they're sort of toning him down and making him less "out there", IMHO it's to make him seem a credible threat without making him someone the fans are all chomping at the bit to make popular (Goldberg chants notwithstanding). By contrast, Kalisto has that natural charisma that makes me miss Rey Mysterio. Kind of sad this has to be on the kickoff show, between that and the blatant "outsourcing" of that strap to not one but two performers clearly proud of NOT being from the US, it really shows how The E's respect for the US title has fallen.

The Total Divas vs. B.A.D. & Blonde (Kickoff Match): THIS, on the other hand, is the kind of match that kickoff shows were made for. The saddest part about this slapdash crock of crap is, if the scuttlebutt is to be believed, this will be Brie's last WWE Match for a while (between Daniel Bryan's health and her desire to have a goat-baby with him). Add to that the fact that everybody loves Bryan right now, and I'm predicting that Brie gets the win for her team here. The other 9 will be equally as relevant after this match as before, either because this is exactly the kind of lame-duck nonsense they're already used to or because their participation will be forgotten in two weeks or less.

The Usos vs. The Dudley Boyz (Kickoff Match): Not a bad choice for the kickoff main event (although really? The US title can't even main event a glorified pre-show??). This is the only kickoff match with an actual story behind it, and IMHO it's actually a compelling one if not slightly predictable (or, dare I say, PREDICT A TABLE). The Usos should go over on this one because The E needs to start building tag team contenders ASAP. Wrestlemania also tends to be the "dreams do come true" event of the year, so I'll give The Usos a nod here. I'll also mention that doing a "Dudleyz sans tables" story on a pre-show is still the best ol' "Bully Ray" has done for himself all year.

The New Day vs. The League of Nations: I cannot be the only person that thinks the League Of Nations is quite possibly the laziest excuse for a stable ever. It's like a reverse gestalt, where the whole is significantly weaker than the sum of its parts. Also, this is a NON-TITLE MATCH. Let's think of how stupid that is for a second. They're inducting Michael P.S. Hayes into the HOF this year, one of the guys who made "the Freebird Rule" a thing... and in a Wrestlemania stable match where beloved heels just became faces and BOTH teams would benefit from the Freebird Rule, they make it non-title? I swear, it's like they're purposely trying to stagnate the tag division. This is supposed to be for "stable supremacy", but really, how is that even a thing worth fighting over? The only other legit stable right now is the Social Outcasts, for chrissakes. If you seriously need 20 minutes at The Grandest Stage Of Them All to prove you're more dominant than any group that lets Heath Slater be in charge of it, then just give up already. Obviously I'm calling this one for New Day, because I ate my Booty-Os and am incapable of being booty.

The 3rd annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal: Speaking of the Social Outcasts, they'll be taking a pass on the "stable supremacy" debate to go fill slots for this grand new tradition. No big surprise since that's pretty much how we honor the legacy of Andre... by tossing in every RAW and Smackdown regular that didn't get their own WM match that year. I'm still a little bitter about how Hideo had to "win" the right to job in last year's match, and that was a year when the battle royal was still pre-show filler, but since WWE didn't make those mistakes this year I suppose I should let it go. Based on the people entering, I'm thinking it will either be Kane or Mark Henry that stands tall at the end.

AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho: Ugh. Just... ugh. "The 40-Year Old Rookie" versus "Y2Jeezus Man Just Stop". It is getting downright PAINFUL to watch Jericho talk these days, and his ring work is a pale shadow of his former self. I've never liked AJ on the mic either, and his WWE run doesn't seem to be doing him any favors there, but I do have to admit he's still quite the nimble little bastard, and if the WWE wants to get the best out of him for whatever few remaining years he has left, they'd be smart to have him go over. I just sincerely hope Jericho doesn't imagine this match as "passing the torch", which he very well might.

Intercontinental Champion Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Zack Ryder vs. Sin Cara vs. The Miz vs. Stardust: It's no secret that I'm not a KO fan, so I'm actually happy he got the slap-dick treatment for his WM title defense. Here's another opportunity for him to have a lie-down while a team of seasoned professionals do all the grunt work of making the IC relevant again. I WANT Stardust to win this one for poo poos and giggles, and I FEEL like Zayn should win this one because it'd be the best way to wrap up the Zayn/Owens story, but I PREDICT that Owens will retain because 2016 WWE is all about those money-spending neckbeards, yo.

Divas Champion Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks (Triple Threat Match): Seriously, THIS is my most anticipated championship match of the evening, and it's for the belt that I like the least. It's 2016, dammit, why is professional wrestling's greatest division of women in the history of the company still fighting to wear a bedazzled butterfly? In any case, all three of these ladies are incredibly talented and deserve a win, which is why I'm calling it for Charlotte. She's uniquely positioned right now, totally willing and able to be for the women's division what her dad was for pro wrestling in general, and they should definitely milk that for all it's worth. Personally though I hope she goes over Lynch rather than Banks.

Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker (Hell in a Cell Match): The streak is already dead, which is the only reason I have no idea whatsoever what direction they're going to take. Seriously though I would LOVE IT if Shane won this thing, but then again I can also see this as being the obligatory "McMahon Family Match" that happens at every Wrestlemania, with Shane stepping in for his dad, and the McMahons almost never win those. I'm going to cross my fingers and wish upon Adam Rose that Shane McMahon wins and brings us a glorious new era of the same old crap.

Dean Ambrose vs. Brock Lesnar (No Holds Barred Street Fight): Y'all don't understand, man. Dean Ambrose is my favorite wrestler right now. He's Roddy Piper, Stone Cold, and Chainsaw Charlie all rolled into one dude. He's the first person I fully expect to get murdered by bikers then crawl out of his own grave just so he can dunk his balls in their beer. And I'm all but completely positive he's going to lose this match, because all the fairy-wish magic in the world isn't going to change the fact that Brock Lesnar is Brock Lesnar. Expect to see Lesnar go over in this match.

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H vs. Roman Reigns: fetch both these clowns. Don't care.
