That being said, rejecting society's trappings makes you look like a moronic ass when you lack the self-consciousness to realize you're begging for the main reason we all put up with society in the first place.

Here in Seattle, there's jobs that just about any bum can get.  There's day labor places.  There's job training programs.  There's an employment agency that gets leads from all over the city.  There's tons of jobs on Craigslist (it's where I got my Nintendo job) and computer use is free at the library.  There's even a newspaper called Real Change that ONLY BUMS ARE ALLOWED TO SELL.  This isn't even counting the food banks and outreach programs designed to basically give stuff away to bums.

Yet, you'll still see these ass-hats standing at highway exits and in front of Jack In The Box, holding up cardboard signs with Bible verses on them and complaining to the local papers about how nobody makes eye contact with them and it makes them feel less human.  Never mind the fact that they only see pedestrians as money sources and not people who have to pay bills and support families.  "fetch your children, Joe Public, I need a dollar to buy a cigarette I can smoke after this free meal I got from behind the church."

One time, a bum asked me for BEER MONEY, at 8AM on a Sunday, while I was walking to work.  I refuse to subsidize any life that is this retarded.

Is hunting for a job hard, possibly even harder when you're homeless and scummy?  Well, sure.  But if you have no place to be and no bills to pay, I'd say use all that free time more wisely.
