Unity is not a scam. I would recommend you download it. Of course, I may be wrong.

That's not true. JavaScript games are browser games. Old HTML games are browser games. Even Flash might be a browser game type platform. Anything that has to run in a restricted environment (like unsigned Java) is a browser game. Unity doesn't count because it's a 3D game engine like DarkBASIC.
