Kinda concerned they are using the "founders edition" of the 1080, a much more expensive and faster card than the basic 1080, for these benchmarks

I did however hear that the 1070 will probably be 50% faster/better than the 970, so it definitely sounds promising

Yeah, I know it's great.  Right now i'm using this old 2GB AMD card I got from work to tie me over.  I probably won't be able to buy the 1070 on launch day, as like the 1080 everyone sweeps in like locusts to buy them up, they sell out within 10 minutes and all you're left with are lengthy pre-orders.  So perhaps at the end of June i'll pick one up.

LOL @ using crossfire as marketing blurb but yeah, for $199 this looks REALLY interesting. Finally some competition to shake things up!

Not to mention FOSS drivers which always get BETTER with time not WORSE like NVIDIA's blob

Gaming at 1080p?  Get the AMD card if the benchmarks hold up

UPDATE: I support AMD. 100%. Day 1 FOSS driver support and good (enough) muscle make this king baby.
/r/pcmasturbates needs to grow up and realize they didn't make this card for them, they made it for FOSS enthusiasts on the cheap like me.

Bunch of reviews for the RX 480 are out now. Fantastic price/performance ratio but I can't help feeling it's a bit under powered. At this point the choices are obvious though: RX 480 or GTX 1070
