Competition #4 - Code a game

Introduction:

You must program/script/code a game WITHOUT the use of a visual editor in 2 weeks. The type of game can be any kind, so long as it is under 50 MB and all of the necessary runtimes and whatnot to run it on Windows XP are included. You must submit it in a compressed format without an installer. Any submissions should be posted in this thread.

EDIT: Just to clarify, you may use visual editors to create graphics, sound, etc. However, any interactive content should be programmed and source code should be included to prove that you programmed it!

Deadline: Friday, 8 June, 11:59 PM Pacific time

Voting: 9 June - 11 June

Competition over! Voting here.

Also, part 2 of the competition has started, which will end on August 6.

I didn't know that GameMaker is a visual editor. New rule then: no GameMaker.

i used codeblocks to put together a shoddy data-reading program slightly hardwired to one specific text file for my intro to c++ class and this is probably what i will submit because it won't cost me any extra effort on my part. will i be disqualified for using a "visual editor" because i don't know what that is

notepad and any text input programs are visual editors so that's cheating.  If you're not writing machine code directly into the command line you are DISQUALIFIED.

the whole point of editing with punchcards is to see what you're doing.  Therefore it's a visual editor and NOT ALLOWED.

CodeBlocks, Notepad, and other IDEs are OK, but you may not use Microsoft Visual Studio C++, nor can you use Visual Basic's GUI editor.

@Bjorno-

Thank you for your interest. I am working on a text adventure, and that will probably be my entry.

EDIT: I uploaded the thing (completely WIP) http://www.2shared.com/file/vvAZscFK/textadv.html for archival purposes.
